i believe
I am nowhere near the expert blogger compared to my wife, but I will give it my best. My name is Eric, and I am Heidi’s husband. Over the last two months (slowly but surely) I have read every posting that Heidi made, and every comment that Heidi’s dedicated readers have left. Although it’s been mostly smiles, there have been many tears as well. Heidi went to heaven on October 6th, 2009 after many years battling cancer. In the midst of difficult days, one of her greatest joys was creating crafting ideas and blogging about them as you see on this website. It was a way for her to find and accentuate positive and cheerful things around us.
I hope that her ideas have inspired you not just to create something, but to share your love with family and friends. Of course she loved to find and create cute crafty ideas, but her true happiness came from sharing those creations with loved ones. Heidi is the true meaning of: it is better to give than to receive. Whether it was crocheting baby booties for a newborn baby, or throwing an engagement shower for a loving cousin.
I am thankful that she has given us all memories, smiles, and laughs that will last forever. This poem, written by Heidi years ago but only discovered after she went to heaven, will forever remind me of her courage, faith, and love. Heidi will always be in our hearts…

I’m so happy we found this poem among her things…it is the epitomy of her spirit! I can see her smile and hear her laughter whenever I think of a memory or moment together. I miss her daily and know she is watching over us.
I’ve been thinking of you and King Louie over this holiday and sending my love.

Dear Eric,
I am so very sorry for the loss of your precious wife. How fragile life is. I didnt know she was battling cancer. I hope that she was comfortable in the end and at peace in her heart. Cancer is a terrible thing. I pray that you will find the strength and courage to face each day as you grieve and that the pain will not consume you. I pray, too, that one day you will find joy again. Thanks for sharing.

Eric -
You don’t know me but you may know my daughter, Allie. Your beautiful wife touched our lives more than you will ever know. Allie loves Heidi so much and misses her everyday. We have a picture of the two of them on her dresser and will keep it there – we don’t want Allie to ever forget her Heidi. Whenever Allie speaks we think of Heidi – we owe so much of Allie’s success to her wonderful speech teacher and friend. We have been praying for you and your family. We will always miss Heidi, she was a real inspiration to us. She blessed our lives and made our lives richer. We will always keep Heidi close to our hearts. Thank you for keeping her Blog, I am looking forward to sharing it with Allie some day. You did a great job with blogging. We are truly sorry for your loss and pray that you are doing well. May God bless you!
