memory lane

A visit to the country is just what I needed to refresh my mind and soul after a rough few days on the couch. Life beyond the weathered fences and white barn doors of the country can get a little chaotic at times. After frequent trips in my mind of our wedding on October 13, 2007 at Weather Lea Farm, we were invited back by the Baldwins, owners of Weather Lea Farm, for some chicken on the grill, tastes of sweet raspberries right off the vine, and a few trips down memory lane. As we made our way around the farm, I couldn’t help but see flashes of our wedding before me. The old Butternut tree we were married under, the stillness of the vineyard in the evening…

…and how we managed to turn a hay filled barn into a glowing haven of twinkling lights.

As the evening went on, I began to realize that we had not only made a vow to each other that October day, but we had also gained a greater appreciation of the simple country life, the ones we love so dearly, and new friendships that will last us a lifetime.

What beautiful pictures…the essence of life on the farm. How sweet it must be, to wander through the fields where you were married, reflecting on the changes of the season. And, also how fun to chase and pet sheep!

Your wedding pictures are beautiful. It must have been a wonderful visit being able to stroll around such a beautiful country setting were you pledged your love to each other. I’ve been to many church weddings that followed with receptions at function rooms and halls, they were beautiful but not unique or personal. I have to say your wedding is by far the most beautiful and creative wedding I’ve seen.
