wee gifts

I’m still reflecting on my visit to Nashville. Somewhere amongst the four pairs of shoes, bathing suit, and cowboy hat, I managed so squeeze in a few goodies for the little people I was about to see. Living so far away enables a sense of distance between family members…especially in the minds of children. I wanted to give a gift that would not only be fun to play with but also a constant reminder of those who love them. I came across this idea…

With each lift of the puzzle piece, a grinning face is there to greet my niece and nephew. I’ve added pictures of aunts and uncles, grandmas and grandpas, cousins, siblings, and mom and dad. Needless to say, this toy was a huge hit with my nephew, Max. He “hopped” his finger from one picture to the next with eager ears as I named off each member of the family. I left an empty spot for additional pictures of the other side of Max’s family. While my baby niece, Emmie, is too young to enjoy this gift just yet, I stitched a baby quilt for her to snuggle into…

It looks to me that Emmie is enjoying her gift as well…

Loving how the puzzle turned out…your newphew must be so hoppy with the gift! Also, can we talk about the sweetness that is Emery? What a beautiful, content little one–must be the comfort of the quilt.

You’ve inspired me to finish MY puzzles. I can’t wait to give them as christmas gifts to all the little babies in my life. Where did you get the cute label for the quilt? The perfect touch :)
