black and white party time

I returned home today to find a lovely flower arrangement waiting to greet me with a note that read…”I never properly thanked you for the beautiful shower and wonderful reading at the wedding. I feel so honored to have you as my cuz. Hope these add a little color to your day! Thanks for being so fabulous!” If you ask me, that is a pretty fabulous “thank you” to receive. After spending an extended amount of time with my nose shoved into the biggest flower I could find, I began to think about the shower and all the fun we had. Here are just a few examples of the fun I had in creating a special day for my Cousin, Lizzie. You won’t have any trouble figuring out that this is the black and white themed shower I blogged about just a few posts back. Activities included a spot for guests to write and share their “best wishes” for the bride to be…

A “make your own bracelet” station to celebrate the bride’s future new name…(click on the picture for a close up view of the poem)

…and a chance for the bride to win a few kitchen gadgets based on questions answered by the groom prior to the shower…

Thanks to my mom, aunt, and one of the bridemaids, a yummy display of food not only tasted delicious but was pretty too…

The table would not be complete without a “BEST WISHES” banner (check out the free banner letter templates I found on Jenny’s blog over at All Sorts!)

The bride looked fabulous in her new, black and white apron made by none other than yours truly…

And the shower wouldn’t have been nearly as black and white without the help of the guests who not only brought black and white wrapped presents but also attended in black and white attire…

All in all, it was a lovely day filled with celebration and great company!

You always put together such a great party, I know everyone had a great time. If only I could get you to cook, then I could take it easy.
