a sweet day for a giveaway!

27 years ago today, John and Terry Moore became parents for the very first time! They had a little girl and they named her Heidi. They filled her room full of pink posies and suited her in frilly dresses and black platen leather shoes. Her daddy called her “monkey” and her mommy hummed tunes of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” as she rocked her baby girl to sleep each night. She grew up knowing only the pleasantries of love and what sweet hugs and kisses felt like. By the grace of God, Heidi grew up among lovely souls. When the time came for her to venture into the world and make her own way, she began to seek and surround herself with those who felt familiar to her. She began to meet other kindred spirits and decided that this is how she wanted to spend her life….among those that love and care for her just as she has always known. On her 27th birthday, Heidi woke up with an overwhelming feeling of happiness. She realized that while some things change so much over the years, others tend to remain exactly the same. That sweet feeling of love has remained a constant in her life for 27 years and that, my friends, is the best birthday present of all.

In an attempt to share a little bit of that sweetness with you, I will be having a (drum roll please…) GIVEAWAY!! See this lovely little cupcake? It can be yours!!! All you have to do is leave a comment on this post before the end of the day on Friday, October 17th and you’ll be in the running for this sweet little felt cake made by me! Good Luck and have a happy (my birth)day!

You know what would go delightfully well with that cupcake? A glorious dinner starting with a sinful blend of boursin cheese (a mix of herbs and garlic) and raspberries spread over crackers and then on to the main course consisting of tender chicken tacos with all the delectible sides: taco shells, lettuce, cheese (3 flavors to be exact), tomatoes, sour cream, guacomole, and salsa (2 flavors). Does this make you hungry enough to award me the cupcake? Hahaha!

I hope you had a marvelous birthday my dear because we sure did love spending it with you! You are one of those people that spread warmth and sunshine every where you go and your friends are lucky enough to get to soak it up from time to time :)

    Heidi-

Happy, Happy Birthday!! You are one of the most creative people I know. I love the cupcakes! So cute. Infact, I would love to find out how you made them. I hope you had a great birthday. I was thinking of you yesterday because I had a cake party with my bookclub after reading the book Eat Cake (which by the way you should read sometime, fun book) but anyway I used the cute cake (that you and Lauren made for my little daughter Abby’s first birthday) for my centerpiece. I don’t know if you remember, but I love it. So thank you for inspiring me and sharing all of your creative ideas!
