sophisticated country wedding series: 3: programs

Does every wedding ceremony need a program? Certainly not. As a wedding guest, you pretty much know what to expect…they walk down the isle, everyone “oo’s and ah’s,” you listen to a few sentimental words, everyone “oo’s and ah’s,” they say “I do,”everyone oo’s and ah’s,” they walk back up the isle, everyone…well, you get the picture. It’s pretty straight forward. When deciding what to include in my wedding program, I borrowed a most lovely idea from my best friend, Lauren. When listing her bridesmaids and groomsmen, she included a little information about each of them. It’s thought of as such an honor to stand up next the bride and groom but often times, the rest of the guests might not know how they are connected.

I spent A LOT of time trimming, stamping, and tying these programs together. I enjoyed every step but I have to admit, I was glad to complete the final one.

Our “prince of the programs.” Who could turn down an offering from this sweet faced, curly headed fella?

Nothing better than a wire egg basket to load them in.

Happy reading, guests!

I can’t believe you hand-did all of your programs (wait a minute, Of course I believe that YOU of all people would do such a thing)…that takes some SERIOUS time…believe me…I know. Sheesh! It was really worth it though…the programs were beautiful…the stamp on the front was perfection. Got your bird card in the mail yesterday….if you aren’t the sweetest most talented thing I know, I don’t know who is. You are so good at making everyday, ordinary sentiments EXTRAordinary. Thanks for thinking of me…it really perked me up :)

  63. paige Says:

I had a friend who put that stuff in her programs, and then took it a step further–like yours, her wedding was outside on her parents farm and was just gorgeous. Almost all of their attendants were friends from around the world, so in the middle of the ceremony, she introduced all of them and told the guests a little about their friendship.

It sounds awkward but it was really touching, and one of the best weddings I have ever been to

  64. Kritta22 Says:
